‘En Garde’ Takes Home a Pegasus!

I’m happy to announce that the video game ‘En Garde’ by fireplace studio has taken home the pegasus for Best First Game in the fifth edition of the award ceremony. A huge congratulations to everyone who worked on the project. En Garde started as a student game but the creators saw the potential to push their idea even further to create a full fledged commercial game. Their hard work has paid off by the recognition of their peers with the award for Best First Game! Doing a voice for this game was such a pleasurable experience and I am so happy that people have taken to the fun and adventurous spirit that the game brings.

‘En Garde’ is not the only game from the region to take home a Pegasus. I am so proud of the other studios from our region that were recognised for their accomplishments as well, including:
Little Nightmares by Playdigious and Tarsier studios for Best Foreign Mobile Game
Karmazoo by Pastagames for Best Accessibility
Soldats Inconnus: Frères d’Armes by Ubisoft Montpellier and Old Skull Games for Excellence in Narrative, Best Mobile Video Game and Above Video Games
Chants of Sennaar by Rundisc studio for Best Video Game, Best Indie Game, and Best Game Design

It’s not just video games from our region that making waves. I also want to make special mention of Jean Bapiste Durand, director of the film Chien de la Casse which was filmed in Herault and took home the César (the French version of the Oscars) for Best First Film. If you haven’t seen the film, I highly recommend it.

Our region is full of talent !
